COMMUNITY CONTRIBUTION
Our students and staff are helping build community every day. Some spend time in inner-city classrooms helping reduce the incidence of bullying. Others travel to remote corners of the world to help farmers improve their crop production, establish safe drinking water supplies or provide dental care for those who would otherwise have none. The University of Manitoba is involved in the community here at home, and around the world.

Here are a few of the more visible ways the university is contributing to the community:

  • Mini-University attracts more than 7,000 children every summer
  • Bison athletes bring positive messages to Manitoba Schools through the Bisons Against Bullying Program
  • Dental Outreach Program delivers oral health care to thousands of children from low-income homes
  • Sculptures by 10 fine arts students create a public art display on Portage Avenue in downtown Winnipeg
