Community Engagement

Community Engagement

Visionary Conversations continues to engage audiences in 2012-2013. This award-winning series hosted by president and vice-chancellor David T. Barnard brings together world-class minds to debate some of the most important public issues of our day.

We believe in leaving the world better than how we found it. To do so, our students and faculty challenge society to achieve its best.

They reach into the community to gain awareness, start a dialogue, offer expertise and create positive change. And our campuses are open to all who wish to learn and grow – whether by obtaining a degree, taking non-credit courses later in life, attending public lectures, enjoying a concert or joining fans at a sporting event.

In addition:

  • Researchers and faculty explore opportunities and share knowledge with partners in the community, government and other educational institutions.
  • Our experts regularly contribute to the public discourse on a wide range of topics through the local and national media.
  • Lectures and speaker series, such as our Visionary Conversations and Café Scientifique, held both on and off campus, provide opportunities for the public to gain insight into our diverse research activities.
