Senate Motions

The following motions were approved by the Senate at its meeting on December 3, 2003.

MOTION

THAT Senate approve the report of the Senate Committee on Curriculum and Course Changes dated November 17, 2003.

MOTION

THAT Senate approve the proposed academic schedule for 2004-2005 [under cover of a memorandum from the Director of Student Records dated November 7, 2003].

MOTION

THAT the minutes of the Senate meeting held on November 5, 2003 be approved as circulated.

MOTION

THAT Senate approve the report of the Senate Committee on Curriculum and Course Changes dated October 21, 2003 and the report of the Senate Planning and Priorities Committee dated November 4, 2003.

MOTION

THAT Senate approve and recommend that the Board of Governors approve the Proposal of the School of Music to introduce a Post-Baccalaureate Diploma in Performance [as endorsed by the Report of the Senate Committee on Curriculum and Course Changes dated August 19, 2003 and the Report of the Senate Planning and Priorities Committee dated October 27, 2003], subject to receiving confirmation from the School of Music Council of its approval of the program.

THAT the Report of the Senate Committee on Admissions concerning a proposal from the Faculty of Nursing to change the admission requirements in the Bachelor of Nursing Program [dated November 10, 2003] be approved by Senate.

THAT the Report of the Senate Committee on Awards PART B [dated October 28, 2003] be approved by Senate.

THAT the report of the Senate Committee on Instruction and Evaluation regarding the Faculty of Nursing [dated November 4, 2003] be approved by Senate.

THAT the report of the Senate Committee on Instruction and Evaluation regarding the timelines for appealing final grades [dated November 4, 2003] be approved by Senate.

THAT the report of the Senate Committee on Instruction and Evaluation regarding probation/suspension regulations for University 1 [dated November 4, 2003] be approved by Senate.

MOTION

THAT Senate approve the following recommendations:
1. The deadline for receipt of nominations for Chancellor by the Office of the University Secretary be 4:00 p.m., Friday, February 13, 2004; and
2. The Committee of Election meet on Wednesday, March 3, 2004, to elect a Chancellor.
