Senate Motions

The following motions were approved by the Senate at its meeting on November 5, 2003.

MOTION

THAT the minutes of the meeting of Senate held on October 1, 2003 be approved as circulated.

MOTION

THAT Senate approve the report from the Executive Committee and ask the Chair of Senate and the President and Vice-Chancellor of the University to reply to the Animal Alliance of Canada and Environment Voters, on the basis of this report and further;

THAT the Senate Committee on Animal Care (SCAC) review current policies and procedures regarding the use of animals for research and teaching, with particular emphasis on ensuring that our policy 1404 maintains consistency with CCAC guidelines, as these are continuously being revised.”

THAT the Report of the Senate Committee on Curriculum and Course Changes and the Report of the Senate Planning and Priorities Committee [dated August 25, 2003] be approved by Senate.

THAT the Report of the Senate Committee on Admissions regarding the General Studies Program [dated September 23, 2003] be approved by Senate.

MOTION

THAT the Report of the Senate Committee on Admissions regarding the Faculty of Social Work [dated September 23, 2003] be approved by Senate.

THAT the Report of the Senate Committee on Admissions regarding the Faculty of Education [dated September 23, 2003] be approved by Senate.

THAT the Report of the Senate Committee on Admissions regarding the Faculty of Education Advanced Standing Policy [dated September 23, 2003] be approved by Senate.

THAT the report of the Senate Committee on Nominations dated October 9, 2003 be approved by Senate.
