Senate Motions

 

The following motions were approved by the Senate at its meeting on November 6, 2002.

MOTION

THAT the Report of the Senate Committee on Curriculum and Course Changes dated September 17, 2002 be approved by Senate.

MOTION

THAT the minutes of the Senate meeting held on October 2, 2002 be approved as amended.

MOTION

THAT Senate approve and recommend that the Board of Governors approve the proposal of the Faculty of Science for a B.Sc. Minor in Ecology [as set out in the report of the Senate Committee on Curriculum and Course Changes dated September 17, 2002 and in the Report of the Senate Planning and Priorities Committee dated June 4, 2002].

MOTION

THAT Senate support the Digital Copyright Clearance Pilot Project, and urge that resources be allocated to the project.

MOTION

THAt the Faculty of Environment Council Bylaw [as set out in the Report of the Senate Committee on Rules and Procedures dated October 7, 2002] be approved by Senate as amended.

MOTION

THAT Senate approve the report of the Senate Committee on Nominations dated November 1, 2002.

MOTION

THAT the report of the Senate Committee on Academic Computing [dated October 3, 2002] and the report of the Senate Planning and Priorities committee [dated September 30, 2002] relating to the Discussion Paper on Information Technology (dated June 2002) be received by Senate and that Senate forward the reports to the Vice-President (Administration).

MOTION

THAT Senate direct the Senate Committee on Academic Computing to report back to Senate on the IT Discussion paper after consulting the Vice-President (Administration) and the responses and submissions from Faculties and Schools.
