Senate Motions

The following motions were approved by the Senate at its meeting on February 7, 2007.

MOTION

THAT Senate approve the list of candidates recommended for degrees notwithstanding a deficiency.

MOTION

THAT Senate approve the list of graduands provided to the University Secretary by the Registrar, subject to the right of Deans and Directors to initiate late changes with the Registrar up to February 9, 2007.

MOTION

THAT Senate approve the proposal for a United Way of Winnipeg Leadership Development Certificate Program [as endorsed by the Extended Education Council on December 13, 2006].

MOTION

THAT the minutes of the Senate meeting held on January 10, 2007 be approved as circulated.

MOTION

THAT Senate approve the proposal of the Faculty of Physical Education and Recreation Studies to change its name to the Faculty of Kinesiology and Recreation Management  [dated December 8, 2006].

MOTION

 THAT Senate approve the report of the Senate Committee on Admissions concerning a proposal from the Faculty of Education to add an additional Teachable minor for admission to the Early & Middle Years programs, effective for the September 2007 intake [dated November 17, 2006].

THAT Senate approve the Report of the Senate Committee on Instruction and Evaluation re: Modification to rules for the recognition of student performance from the Faculties of Arts, Engineering, and Science [dated January 12, 2007].

THAT Senate approve the Report of the Senate Committee on Instruction and Evaluation re: Faculty of Nursing policy for clinical rotations [dated January 12, 2007].

MOTION

THAT Senate approve the following recommendations:

1. The deadline for receipt of nominations for Chancellor by the Office of the University Secretary be 4:00 p.m., Thursday March 15, 2007; and
2. The Committee of Election meet on Wednesday, April 4, 2007at 1:00 p.m., to elect a Chancellor.

THAT Senate approve the election of Dean Doering for a term on the Senate Executive Committee ending May 31, 2007.
