As you may be aware, the current Support Staff Assessor on the Board of Governors is Ms Rosalyn Howard of Human Resources. Her term, and the term of the Alternate Assessor, Mr. Barry Stone of Student Residences, will expire on May 31, 2013. Therefore, nominations are being sought for a Support Staff Assessor and an Alternate Assessor on the Board of Governors for a term ending May 31, 2015.
The position of Support Staff Assessor was created to enable the Board of Governors to benefit from a support staff perspective during its meetings. The Assessor attends meetings of the Board and its Executive Committee. The Assessor has the same rights and obligations as a member of the Board and Executive Committee, except that an Assessor may not make or amend motions, or vote. The Support Staff Assessor to the Board of Governors shall have a two (2) year term.

All full-time support staff are eligible for election and to vote, providing their names are on the employee list printed approximately forty-five (45) days prior to the election, which will be held the third Friday in May.
The Nomination Form must be signed by five (5) support staff members and by the nominee to signify his/her acceptance of the nomination, and returned to the Office of the University Secretary, 312 Administration Building, by 12:00 noon on the last Friday in April.
The time frame for consideration of the nominations and ballots is as follows:
April 12 - Memorandum and nomination forms to be mailed to all support staff members
April 26 - Nominations to be received no later than 12:00 noon in the Office of the University Secretary, 312 Administration Building
May 3 - Ballots to be mailed to all support staff members
May 17 - Deadline for receipt of ballots is at 12:00 noon. Ballots received after this deadline will not be counted
May 20 - Ballots counted and results announced
The Assessor will be the nominee who receives the highest amount of votes. The Alternate Assessor will be the nominee who receives the second highest amount of votes.
