CHARACTER OF THE JOB

This position provides peak assistance in the Book Store. Incumbents work under close supervision.

CHARACTERISTIC DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Ensures merchandise is desensitized and security tags are removed.
  • Obtains change for cashiers as requested.
  • Distributes flyers/information.
  • Records identification on back of cheques from customers for sales where payment is made by cheque.
  • Counts money.
  • Performs other related duties as required or assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED

The minimum qualifications necessary for acceptable (satisfactory) job performance are:

Level of Formal Education

Education to an acceptable level.

Experience

  • No experience required as A on-the-job @ training is provided.
  • Retail experience preferred.
  • An acceptable equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.

Skills and Abilities

  • Ability to work in harmony with others and provide assistance to staff, students and the public.
  • Must have a good understanding of customer service.
  • Appropriate verbal and written communication skills.

Physical Requirements

Capable of performing the duties as assigned.
