Application Procedures

Thank you for your interest in employment at The University of Manitoba!

All postings and academic advertisements can be viewed on the Uminfo system from any computer with a direct or dial-up connection to the campus network. Although most postings are viewable to computers across the Internet, there are a few exceptions where it is expected that U of M students or employees will be hired. You can use the print command on the file menu to obtain your own copy of the posting.

Applications for the following types of positions must be submitted to the address shown on the posting by 4:00 p.m. of the closing date of the posting. Applications must be for specific posted vacancies. We do not accept general applications. The University appreciates the interest of all applicants, however, only those under consideration will be contacted.

Academic vacancies are available for viewing across the Internet. Applicants must submit a curriculum vitae on a specific advertised position. (An application form is not required for this type of vacancy.)

Support Staff and Managerial vacancies are posted for a minimum of one week. We require that applicants submit a completed University of Manitoba Application for Employment form on a specific posted position. You are encouraged to attach a resume to the completed application form.

Teaching Assistant, Demonstrator, Tutor, Seminar Leader and Grader/Marker vacancies (CUPE/Student) are posted for a minimum of fourteen calendar days. We require that students submit a separate Student Application Form for each specific posted position. A photocopy of your latest student transcript should be attached to each application form.

Sessional Instructor vacancies are posted for a minimum of fourteen calendar days. Applicants must submit a curriculum vitae on a specific posted position. (An application form is not required for this type of vacancy.)

The results of competitions are available online for support/managerial and CUPE/Student vacancies.

The University welcomes diversity in the work place, and encourages applications from qualified women and men, including members of visible minorities, Aboriginal peoples, and persons with disabilities. Job advertisements are directed to Canadian citizens and permanent residents. International students registered in degree programs are eligible to apply for full- or part-time short term employment.
