Student Affairs Participation Award

The Student Affairs Participation Award provides support to students every year through funds raised by support staff! The Fund was established in 1991 through the development fund campaign of 1987-1991, and has been presenting awards since 1992. Students are nominated with the following criteria:

•Has completed courses constituting at least a first full year of a program of study at the UM with a minimum cumulative grade point average of 3.0;

•Is enrolled as a full-time student (with at least 60 percent of a full course-load) both in the year of award and in the year immediately preceding; and

•Has verification of active participation in the university community, in activities such as university governance and committees, the arts, music and athletics.
Preference may be given to students who have shown leadership and made a significant contribution in those areas broadly understood to include student affairs and services.

Ways to contribute to the Student Affairs Participation Award:

•Staff can designate their gift within the philanthropy campaign to be directed to the Fund;

•Within the anniversary years of service program, staff can also donate directly to this award by selecting the Student Affairs Participation Award;

•Staff can choose to have funds directed in their honour to celebrate retirement, a birthday or another milestone.
