
All organizations experience challenges in balancing the need for administrative processes and systems with the danger of those processes themselves creating unnecessary and nonproductive work. Employees can be irritated both by the time and effort needed to service the organization and by the interference with what they see as their “real” work.
U of M has been investing heavily in assessing and streamlining processes through workflow and technological supports. We will continue to improve. We will also communicate more about the efficiencies that have already been achieved.
