Over the next few months, the University of Manitoba will be changing its recruitment platform from REACH-UM to UM Careers (through the existing human resource information system, VIP). The anticipated implementation date is in early November, 2017.
We will be posting the same types of jobs that are currently posted through REACH-UM:
• Posted support staff jobs (AESES, Unifor, CUPE 1482, EMAPS, etc.)
• Posted CUPE 3909 Sessionals and TAs (including Lecturer/Instructors and
Job postings will be displayed through a UM Careers link on the HR webpage. External applicants will apply through the web listing; employees may apply through either the web page or within Employee Self-Service (ESS), which is accessed through JUMP.
If you are an external applicant (that is, not a current employee), you will need to create a new account.
If you are current employee, you will not need to create a new account. You will log in to JUMP and within Employee Self-Service will be able to access your application/career portal.
No. Due to time constraints, we are not converting existing information (resumes, cover letters, etc.) from REACH-UM into VIP. You may want to download/print any of your documents so that you have copies/records of them for future use. We will be securely archiving all REACH-UM data, but it will not be available to applicants. We will be sending a communication to all current REACH-UM account holders later in the summer to provide further information on downloading/printing your documents from REACH-UM.
The project team is mandated with keeping the transition from REACH-UM to VIP as smooth as possible. Other than a different look, most processes will remain unchanged. However, you will notice some positive enhancements to the application process, such as:
• You will be able to review and even change your application package (cover letter,
resume) prior to submitting it to the posting. You can even change some of your
information through your account once you have submitted your application, as long as
you do this before the posting closes.
• You will no longer have to upload a resume each and every time you apply for a job. You
will have the option to use your existing resume, or change it for a different one.
