AESES - Retail Clerk

CHARACTER OF THE JOB

This position provides peak assistance in the Book Store.  Incumbents work under close supervision.

CHARACTERISTIC DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Desensitize, remove security tags and bag merchandise if requested.
• Obtains change for cashiers as requested.
• Distributes flyers/information.
• Greets customers and monitors bags/customers entering store.
• Assists customers in need of delivery.
• Assists with crowd/line up control.
• Assists customers with basic inquiries.
• Performs other related duties as required or assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED

The minimum qualifications necessary for acceptable (satisfactory) job performance are:

Level of Formal Education

• Education to an acceptable level.

Experience

• Retail/Customer Service experience required.
• An acceptable equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.

Skills and Abilities

• Ability to work in harmony with others and provide assistance to staff, students and the public.
• Must have a good understanding of customer service.
• Appropriate verbal and written communication skills.
• Demonstrate high energy, friendly, customer service driven behavior.

Physical Requirements

Capable of performing the duties as assigned.
