
| Revision Date: 2003 Classification: Information Technologist 4 (Leadership) Unit: AESES Hay Point Range: 358-418 CHARACTER OF THE JOB This is the first level of supervision in the Information Technology family. Positions plan, organize, direct, control, guide, co-ordinate and perform formal performance evaluations for a small number of staff. While the work of direct reports is clearly encompassed within the Information Technology family, it is of a routine or moderately complex nature and is reasonably well related. This level is most often a working supervisor, performing assignments similar to those described in the Individual contributor category. Positions likely have a general knowledge in several related areas or
have developed some depth in an area of information technology. An acceptable equivalent combination of education and experience may
be considered. This class specification is intended to illustrate the characteristics
of this classification level and should not be interpreted as a description
of any one individual position within this classification level.

| Revision Date: 2003 Classification: Information Technologist 4 (Individual Contributor) Unit: AESES Hay Point Range: 358-418 CHARACTER OF THE JOB These positions independently undertake work that is moderately complex to complex and can include software and hardware evaluation, and software development. They may assist in the development of major system modules or fix problems and make enhancements to existing software, help resolve problems and issues that require in-depth analyses and broad judgement, or are responsible for the software and hardware aspects of large LAN/WAN network configurations. All positions at this level must have a solid knowledge of the environment and business within which they work. Positions may be the senior Information Technology professional for a department with systems that have limited variety and complexity. This is the first level where positions may have some limited project
management responsibilities. Positions will operate autonomously and without
close supervision on many programming and maintenance activities. An acceptable equivalent combination of education and experience may
be considered. This class specification is intended to illustrate the characteristics
of this classification level and should not be interpreted as a description
