The University of Manitoba's Strategic Planning Framework strives to provide students with an outstanding experience. Results from student surveys provide valuable information that is used by the University to continually improve the student experience. In order to make a wider use of studies that have been conducted, this section will provide access to results that may be of interest to others in the University community.

National Survey of Student Engagement(NSSE)
NSSE collects information about student participation in programs and activities that institutions provide for their learning and personal development. Survey items represent empirically confirmed "good practices" in undergraduate education; that is, they reflect behaviors by students and institutions that are associated with desired outcomes of post-secondary education. Survey responses are grouped into five benchmarks: Level of Academic Challenge, Active and Collaborative Learning, Student-Faculty Interaction, Enriching Educational Experiences, and Campus Environment. For more information, including the survey questions, visit the National Survey of Student Engagement web site at http://nsse.iub.edu/html/about.cfm.
Reports:>
The following reports include results for The University of Manitoba as well as for the U15 as a whole. When assessing results, it is important to consider effect size, which is described in the introduction to each report. The NSSE organization emphasizes that comparison of individual institutions to group results, while interesting, is not the most informative use of the results. Responses to individual questions focusing on aspects that institutions deem critical yield the most useful information for improvement efforts.

ACHA-National College Health Assessment (NCHA)
The NCHA is a nationally recognized research survey that collects precise data about students' health habits, behaviours, and perceptions. Items map a wide variety of health issues including alcohol, tobacco, and other drug use; sexual health; weight; nutrition; exercise; mental health; and personal safety and violence.
