Distinguished Visiting Lecturer Program

Nominations

Nominations will be accepted from individuals or groups within or associated with the University. Each nomination should be accompanied by:

  1. a current curriculum vitae for the nominee;
  2. a supporting statement from the nominator(s), giving, in particular, reasons for support of the nominee proposed;
  3. the proposed format of the visit, e.g. type of lectures, seminars or other activities, and probable dates for the visit;
  4. a suggestion as to suitable honorarium and an estimate of total travel and living expenses involved;
  5. statements from others supporting the nomination;
  6. indicate what other sources of support have been applied for, or received for this candidate.

Proposals may be submitted at any time during the year but the Committee expects to recommend a majority of its awards in June of each year.  Appropriate notices will be placed in the University Bulletin.

The Committee with the assistance of the appropriate University officers will assure adequate publicity and appropriate facilities for the visiting lecturers. A survey will be completed after each visit to determine the nature of the activities which took place and their success.
