With national and international attention focused on the development of the Canadian Museum for Human Rights in Winnipeg, the University of Manitoba is well-placed to encourage debate and discussion around the understanding of human rights, peace and justice and respect for others.
The Arthur V. Mauro Centre for Peace and Justice is dedicated to the study of the cultural, religious and philosophical dimensions of peace; peace education; human rights; and the role of international organizations in the quest for peace and justice. Expertise in several other faculties such as Arts, Education, Law, Social Work and Medicine further enhance the University of Manitoba’s leadership role in this area.
