The Vice-Provost (Academic Affairs), in conjunction with Centre for the Advancement of Teaching and Learning (CATL), offers a New Faculty Orientation each July. Session topics include information and privacy, copyright, effective teaching, libraries, University 1, research services, student affairs, Registrar's Office services, the Faculty of Graduate Studies, Financial Services, and technology services. The New Faculty Mid-Year Check-in and New Faculty Reception will be held on Thursday, January 30, 2014 from 3:30-5:30 pm. The 2014 New Faculty Orientation will be held July 8 - 9, 2014. This year's New Faculty Orientation was held on July 17-18. The 2-day mini-conference was based on the theme of “Igniting Your Journey” and consisted of information booths from various departments, services and units, concurrent sessions on topics related to teaching, learning and research and a motivational keynote speaker.
