Winnipeg has many distinctive neighborhoods including Wolseley - one of the most intact pre-1930 residential areas in Canada;  St. Boniface, which is the centre of much of the Franco-Manitoban community; and Osborne Village, which is known for its 'boho chic.'

Additionally, there are numerous rural municipalities, cities and towns which are of a commuting distance to Winnipeg and the University of Manitoba.
