| Current Initiatives |
The Student Experience Committee provides a forum for students and members of the University administration to review and discuss issues, programs, services, policies and procedures that will enhance the student experience at the University of Manitoba. Meetings are held at least four times per year and recommendations will be forwarded to appropriate administrative units or student association governing bodies. Terms of Reference Membership The Students First Initiative, created in partnership with information services and technology (IST), student life, and the University of Manitoba Students' Association (UMSU), aims to create a more student-driven IST investment by consulting directly with students on the IT services they want to see implemented around campus. Launched last fall, the initiative called out to students, faculty and administration for IT project proposals they'd like to see implemented around campus, with a priority on projects that would be directly beneficial to students. By the January 17th deadline, 40 proposals were collected and organizers hope the projects will be chosen and approved for April 1st and will be carried out in the 2013-14 fiscal year.
