Student Experience Committee

The Student Experience Committee provides a forum for students and members of the University administration to review and discuss issues, programs, services, policies and procedures that will enhance the student experience at the University of Manitoba. Meetings are held at least four times per year and recommendations will be forwarded to appropriate administrative units or student association governing bodies.

Students First Initiative

The Students First Initiative, initiated in 2013 in partnership with Information Services and Technology (IST), Student Life, and the University of Manitoba Students' Association (UMSU), aims to create a more student-driven IST investment by consulting directly with students on the IT services they want to see implemented around campus. Launched last fall, the initiative called out to students, faculty and administration for IT project proposals they'd like to see implemented around campus, with a priority on projects that would be directly beneficial to students. By the January 17th deadline, over 40 proposals were collected with 15 of these projects identified as having high strategic importance.; These projects are currently in progress or near to completion.

Building on the success of the initiative, the project has again put out a call for proposals for the 2014-2015 fiscal year Information on submitting;a proposal can be found by clicking here.  The deadline for Fall 2013 submissions is 4p.m. CST December 9, 2013.
