Mr. Paul Kochan became Vice-President (Administration) of the University of Manitoba on September 17, 2012.

Most recently, his career included serving as Vice-President and Chief Financial Officer of the Winnipeg Regional Authority (1998-2012). He previously spent 15 years in private industry with PBSC Computer Training Centres as Vice-President Finance and Canadian Motorways Ltd. as Assistant Controller and Deloitte & Touche as Senior Manager, as well as some time with the CBC as Regional Comptroller.

Mr. Kochan holds B.A. Comm.(Hons) and a Chartered Accountant designation from the University of Manitoba. As well, he holds designation as a Chartered Business Valuator and Certified Public Accountant (Illinois). In 2001, he was elected as a Fellow of the Chartered Accountants by the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Manitoba.

Mr. Kochan has been a member of numerous boards and professional associations. He is currently Vice-Chair of the Healthcare Employee Pension Plan and also has served as President of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Manitoba, as well as numerous community organizations.
