Funding for IEEQ Program

On October 1st, 2007, Manitoba's Minister of Advanced Education and Literacy, Diane McGifford, together with Manitoba's Minister of Labour and Immigration, Nancy Allan, announced over $1 million in new provincial funding to expand enrolment in the Internationally Educated Engineers Qualification (IEEQ) Program at the University of Manitoba.

The program has been delivered by the University's Faculty of Engineering since 2003 and features an academic component and a paid work-experience placement with an employer in the participants' engineering disciplines.  Since the IEEQ Program began, 24 internationally-educated engineers have completed the program with an additional 11 expected to complete it this year.
