Biography - Denisa Gavan-Koop

Denisa joined the University of Manitoba in June 2012 as a Community Engagement Associate. Denisa is responsible for contributing to the development and implementation of the University’s broad engagement strategies in alignment with the University’s Strategic Planning Framework. Denisa reports to the Associate Vice-President (External).

Prior to joining the Government and Community Engagement unit at the University of Manitoba, Denisa was a Public Engagement Consultant at the University of British Columbia, Campus and Community Planning Department and a Planning and Constituency Assistant in Ward 27 (Toronto-Centre, Rosedale) in the City of Toronto.


Denisa holds a Master of Environmental Studies (Urban Planning) from York University, a Master of Arts (Political Science) from Simon Fraser University and a Bachelor of Arts (Honours) from the University of Calgary. She also holds a Certificate in Public Participation from the International Association of Public Participation (IAP2).
