Charlene Hawryluk joined the University of Manitoba as the Confidential Assistant to the Director, Government and Community Engagement in August, 2013. Her role is to provide strategic support to the Director, participate in the planning and co-ordination of unit activities and the overall administrative management of the office.

Prior to joining the University of Manitoba, Charlene was a Legal Assistant and worked mainly in the areas of Civil Litigation and Child Protection.  She has also worked in Corporate Law, Real Estate and Family Law. Charlene has extensive experience in customer service, data analysis and team management.

Charlene was born and has lived in Winnipeg for a majority of her life. She spent two years with her husband and children in Yorkton, Saskatchewan, four years in Brandon, Manitoba and returned home to Winnipeg in 2008. Charlene enjoys seasonal camping with her family in the summer, and hiding from the cold in the winter beside a cozy fireplace with a good book.
