On a regular basis the Government Relations Office of the University of Manitoba organizes a speakers series where University Professors and researchers address an audience of provincial politicians and employees on topics of interest. Ignatieff visits Fort Garry Campus
Federal Liberal leader Michael Ignatieff brought his cross-Canada tour to the University of Manitoba January 14, voicing his commitment to education and research as priorities for the nation’s successful future. About 350 students, faculty and staff gathered in the Asper Building to hear Mr. Ignatieff and learn about his vision for the country. Prior to his meeting with students, Mr. Ignatieff met briefly with University President David Barnard.
