The
J. C. Gilson
Agribusiness Fellowship

Dr. James Clayton Gilson served the University of Manitoba for 38 years in various capacities including Head of the Department of Agricultural Economics, Dean of the Faculty of Graduate Studies, and Vice-President (Academic). His ability as a teacher and researcher was recognized in 1981 when he was The University of Manitoba Distinguished Professor. However, Dr. Gilson's reputation goes far beyond the University boundaries due to his exceptional ability to apply his research and scholarship to assist the agribusiness community.

Upon his retirement, his colleagues, alumni, friends and family established a fund for the purpose of offering a graduate student fellowship in agribusiness for a prospective Master of Science student in Agribusiness and Agricultural Economics.

This award of $12,000 is renewable for one year (upon satisfactory progress), and will be granted to an outstanding student beginning Master of Science study in the Department of Agribusiness and Agricultural Economics at the University of Manitoba.

Applications are available from the Graduate Studies Assistant, Department of Agribusiness and Agricultural Economics, or download from the link below. Completed applications and accompanying documents should be submitted to the address on the application form.
