Living in residence has never been more attractive at the Fort Garry campus of the University of Manitoba. The Arthur V. Mauro Student Residence offers a little bit more privacy and a lot more choice. It’ll make on-campus living an unforgettable addition to your University experience. Centrally located at the junction of Dafoe Road and Maclean Crescent, the Arthur V. Mauro Student Residence has room for 316 students in 155 suites on a total of six floors.

 ► Features:

• Two bedroom furnished suites with individual bedrooms and an in-suite washroom with shower; includes a kitchenette with a fridge, sink, and microwave
• Double beds - 54" wide x 80" long
• Several common washrooms with bathtubs
• Resident Advisors (RAs) - trained student staff on each floor
• Cable TV service available (you must supply your own TV)
• Lounges with TVs and DVD players
• Group-use kitchen with oven on the main floor
• Study room on most floors
• Games room/media room, fitness room, lending library, and laundry in the basement

► Your Suite at the Mauro:
Make yourself at home in a comfortable hotel-like suite that includes two bedrooms, a kitchenette, private washroom with shower, free Internet, cable connections for subscriber service, and air conditioning. You’ll have company when you want it, privacy when you need it, and a host of conveniences to make life in residence super comfortable.

Your fully-furnished suite includes beds, desks, chairs, and bookshelves. The kitchenette has a microwave and refrigerator and plenty of room to store all your favourite snacks. Your very own washroom includes a roomy shower to invigorate you for the day ahead. Internet and cable access puts the world at your fingertips.

► Room Rates:
Once approved by the Board of Governors each year, the Room Rates are posted with payment schedules.

► Meal Plans:
Living at the Arthur V. Mauro Student Residence means never having to worry about what’s for dinner. You can prepare your own meals in your suite and a grocery run sponsored by the U of M Students' Union (UMSU) is made weekly to a local supermarket. Or you can have the option of affordable and nutritious meals from breakfast to dinner in both Pembina Hall and other campus cafeterias.

A variety of optional Meal Plans are available to suit the needs of every student.

► Student Fees:
Currently, there are two fees that are in addition to your room fee and optional meal plans.

• Residence Council Fee $45
• Residence Life Programming Fee $70

► IT - Phone, Cable, Internet:
Students are provided with free wired Internet via the Student Residences department, but any other IT Services including telephone, television, and subscriber service wired Internet can be negotiated by the student.

All furniture must remain in the suite and there is no storage for furniture brought into the building. When leaving residence, all furniture must be placed exactly the same way as when you moved in. Residents will be charged for the repair or replacement of any furniture assigned to them that is missing or not in good condition at time of departure.

► Fitness Room:

Located in the basement, your suite key opens the door. The room is equipped with two bikes, a treadmill, an elliptical trainer, and exercise mats.

► Housekeeping:
Each resident is responsible for keeping their suite in a neat and sanitary condition. Vacuum cleaners are available from the RAs. The kitchen and washroom areas of each suite will be lightly cleaned on a rotational basis. Staff will clean the shower, sink, toilet, and floor in the washroom. They will wash the floor in the kitchen and will clean the sink and counter, unless there are dishes or food left on the counter or in the sink. They are not responsible for washing dishes or removing garbage. If the staff are not able to enter your room due to the deadbolt, they will skip your room until the next time they are scheduled to clean it. Any deficiencies and problems will be reported.

► Garbage and recycling:
On a regular basis, garbage and recycling must be removed from the suite and discarded in the garbage/recycling room (located on each floor).
