University College is a mid-size, co-ed residence with 236 single rooms and 10 double rooms. You’ll find all the quiet space you need to study with lots to do when it’s time to socialize. With 40 people per floor, there is a strong community and a small town feel.

► Room Rates:
Once approved by the Board of Governors each year, the Room Rates are posted with payment schedules.

► Meal Plans:
University College residents are given a declining balance Meal Plan (that works like a bank debit card) to buy their meals in dining areas across campus. There’s a canteen located in Univesity College for a quick breakfast or light meal. Also, meals can be eaten at the Pembina Hall Dining Room.

► Student Fees:
Currently, there are two fees that are in addition to your room fee and optional meal plans.

• Residence Council Fee $60
• Residence Life Programming Fee $70

► IT - Phone, Cable, Internet:
Students are provided with free wired DSL Internet via the Student Residences, but any other IT Services including telephone, television, and subscriber service wired Internet can be negotiated by the student. Note: Getting subscriber service Internet or TV will disable SR Internet.

 ► Room Plans

Single Room Plan:
Bedroom Size - 121 sq. ft.

 

► Double Room Plan:  (Note: there are only 10 double rooms in UCR)
Bedroom Size - 267 sq. ft.

► Bedroom Features:

• Single bed (2 single beds if a double room)
• Dresser(s)/ mirror(s)/ cabinet(s)
• Closet(s)/storage cupboard(s)
• Wastebasket and recycling bin
• Desk(s) & chair(s)
• High-speed Internet access

► We Recommend that You Bring:

• Bedding for an extra-long single bed

► Garbage and recycling:
On a regular basis, garbage and recycling must be removed from the room and discarded in the garbage/recycling room (located on each floor).
