Asbestos Management - Medical Surveillance Program
The University of Manitoba through the Environmental Health and Safety Office offers a Medical Surveillance program to all University workers who qualify as outlined in the provincial Guidelines for Working with Asbestos and Fibrogenic Dust Exposure Medical Screening Guideline. These parameters include:
  • workers who have been exposed to asbestos in excess of the occupational exposure limit (0.1 fibre/mL)
  • workers that had the potential to be exposed to asbestos in excess of 100 hours in a one year period
