Ms. Patlee Creary
Patlee Creary is a PhD Candidate in Peace and Conflict Studies. She is a former Captain in the Jamaica Defence Force and current Wu Graduate Scholar. Her research interests include small state security, peacebuilding in fragile states, and the role of the military in conflict resolution and peacebuilding. Her SSHRC-funded PhD thesis research is focused on military role and identity transitions in international peace operations. She has authored a University of Manitoba Bison Special Report on Caribbean maritime security cooperation and co-authored peer-reviewed journal articles and a book chapter on peacebuilding in Northern Ireland. Patlee has worked with the Winnipeg International Storytelling Festival as a facilitator and researcher and has volunteered with the Winnipeg Military Families' Resource Centre.
