Centre For Higher Education Research And Development
The Centre for Higher Education Research and Development (CHERD) was established in 1987 as a centre for graduate preparation, research and publication in higher education. CHERD offers regional, national, and international courses, programs, seminars, and workshops. The Centre also uses a range of media, journals, monographs, and data sets to exchange information with its world-wide network of scholars and practitioners.

CHERD is Canada's leading institution dedicated to research and the professional development of faculty and administration in post-secondary education. The centre strives to maintain an appropriate balance among the tasks of teaching, research, and service. At the same time, it attempts to maintain a similarly appropriate balance among its commitments locally, provincially, nationally, and internationally.

The activities of the Centre are carried out by a core of academic and support staff and research assistants and a larger network of academic leaders in higher education from the University of Manitoba and across North America.

You can learn more about the centre and its professional development opportunities and research by exploring our website. We will be continuing to develop and update our site over the coming months. If you have any questions, concerns, or ideas, please don't hesitate to contact us.
