RDC Awards
A number of $5000 grants are awarded to graduate students who are using one or more Statistics Canada databases available at the RDC. Interested students/fellows must submit the following documents:
1) A description of the research project, with details on the research question, methodology used, the dataset to be accessed, and when the planned research will take place
2) A current transcript
3) A letter of support from the supervisor
4) A cover letter with contact information

Jennifer Frimpong - Project 1: "Secondary Migration and Economic Outcomes: Evidence among Immigrant Children", project 2: "Immigration Policy, Labour market Outcomes of Women and Family Reunification"
Nusrat Jahan - "Air Pollution and Perinatal Death"

The CRDCN Emerging Scholars Grant is a $1000 grant to Ph.D. students who are undertaking thesis-related research in one of the 30 RDCs or branches at universities across the country. Students can hold both this grant and other ones for which they may be eligible from other funders simultaneously.
Each applicant must satisfy the following criteria, prior to applying for the grant: be a Ph.D. student enrolled full-time in a Canadian university, have successfully completed the Ph.D. comprehensive examinations for his/her program of study, have an approved RDC-based research project related to her or his Ph.D. dissertation.
Each applicant is required to submit a complete application, online, through the CRDCN website; Provide a letter from his/her Ph.D. supervisor confirming that: she/he is enrolled in a Ph.D. program in a Canadian university, he/she has successfully completed all comprehensive examinations, her/his thesis proposal has been approved and that at least one chapter will use RDC data and sign a release allowing the CRDCN to use her/his photo and research abstract for communication purposes.
