BILINGUALISM AND MULTICULTURALISM IN CANADIAN EDUCATION
Edited by Vincent D'Oyley, Anne Lloyd and Stan M. Shapson.
Volume 10 Number 4.
Bilingualism and Multiculturalism in Canadian Education is a collection of public lectures and workshops on bi-lingualism and multiculturalism in education held at Simon Fraser University by the faculty of education. The text is very scholarly and is intended to serve as a textbook for university courses dealing with the topics covered. These include such things as second language programs, French immersion, minority languages, English and French realities in Canada. Each chapter begins with an abstract, followed by an essay on the chapter topic, and concluding with a list of references.
Many of the topics are informative, and all are geared to a university level research project. It is definitely not aimed at the secondary school student. Anyone with only a passing interest in the topic would find it hard to read, dull, and uninteresting.
