THE ISIS PEDLAR
Volume 11 Number 3.
In this sequel to Keeper of the Isis Light* and The Guardian of Isis, David N'Komo, grandson of one of the original settlers from earth, is the protagonist. Of all the inhabitants of Isis, only he and the Guardian recognize the chicanery of Michael Flynn, disreputable captain of the disreputable spaceship, Luck of the Irish. Flynn, after defying the Interstellar Quarantine imposed on Isis, easily tricks its somewhat backward inhabitants (at great risk to their health) into mining the beautiful firestones that will make him rich on other planets.
Flynn's daughter, Moira, David, and the Guardian combine forces to oppose Flynn and expose him to the people; Moira and David fall in love.
This book raises the age-old questions of exploitation of the innocent and greed and deals with them in an honest manner. Only the love interest is contrived and less than convincing. Students who have enjoyed the first two books of the trilogy will not be disappointed in the final volume.
