April and Susan Join In is one of the best records (or tapes) for young children. Preschoolers and children up to grade 6 will delight in the rhythms and fun. There is much variety to appeal to the tastes of all children. The songs encourage participation, and many have sing-a-long lines that are easy to join in. Songs such as "Join In" allow children to repeat a few lines of each verse while listening to the fun verse lines that are so well sung by April and Susan. "Shake! Shake! Shake!" encourages body movements that children so love. The humour in such songs as "The Laughing Song," which features various types of laughter, makes the children themselves laugh uproariously. Various musicians and a children's chorus enhance what already is an excellent record.

April is a professional guitarist and banjo player as well as a singer-songwriter. Susan is known foe her part in Mr. Dressup. She is also a professional writer of children's books, radio and television scripts and films. April and Susan like children: this is obvious when you listen to them. They also know how to tickle and please an audience. While this record is intended for children from ages four up, I cannot imagine any adult not wanting to join in with this winning record.
