Another book for toddlers, this one consists of twenty-five short chants composed by the author for, or with, her first-born son. The subjects are toddler trivialities, parks, baths, porridge, washcloths, vacuum cleaners, toys, rain, and bubbles, not necessarily trivialities to a toddler, but made trivial in the chants.

Although described as "rhymes," many of the pieces neither rhyme nor scan, but merely almost do so, and therefore are most difficult to read aloud. No doubt the small son greatly enjoyed playing with his mother. Other mothers would be better off making their own chants for their babies than trying to repeat these. The illustrations are the best part of the book. According to the cover, Brenda Jones is "of the National Film Board." Black and white, in cartoon style, they just barely escape being cute, but are redeemed by the antics of the various animals: cat, dog. teddy bear, bird. The only use I can find for this book in a school is as a drawing book.
