This brightly illustrated picture-book in the "Annick Toddler" series has universal appeal. Its subject, a child's big new bed, speaks to pre-schoolers, some school-aged children and empathetic parents. When Jeremy, the book's little hero, awakens to find himself alone in the dark in his new bed, he runs for comfort to the nearest cozy bed. Mom, followed by Dad, then big brother Andrew are awakened night after night when he WHUMPS on top of them. Finally, after many sleepless nights, the family unwittingly and sleepily solves the problem with help from Jeremy’s three teddies.

Vividly coloured illustrations in strong blues, purples and yellows spill across the pages and depict the plot's action and humour. The sonorous text with some somnolent repetition helps make this book a good snuggle-down story for sleepyheads.
