Volume 18 Number 2
1990 March

This slim paperback contains plenty of ideas and instructions for parties, where the guests help make the games and the fun. Starting with invitations decorated with string prints, party hats and decorations such as place mats and a pinata, there are plenty of ideas. Many of the activities such as hand puppets, paper jewellery, decorated shoelaces, oink banks and presents for pets - here presented as party favours or prizes for the games - could be good rainy-day ideas.

I noticed that there are some good old games resurrected or brought up to date (stick the spider on the web, memory tray and various relay races). Hooray!! There's not a single mention of the video store. These are ideas for things to do, not to sit and watch.

Depending on the ages of the children, more or less adult help would be needed. A bunch of highly motivated ten-year-olds could run this party with minimal supervision. And the party would not be expensive!!
