Mike thinks it is cool to do drugs and wants to join some of his friends as they try some beer and cigarettes. Mike's friend Andy has to make a decision about joining them, because he doesn't want to be seen as a "dweeb." After much deliberation, Andy's dog Ruffus takes him to see the local Disc Jockey, a "really cool dude," who helps Andy make a responsible decision based on personal values rather than one based on peer pressure.

This video has an excellent message for kids on the subject of the use of drugs (non-prescription) and the things to which that use can lead. I particularly liked the fact that nicotine and alcohol were clearly identified as addictive drugs. The video is worth buying for that reason alone. I did, however, find it annoying to have a mixture of real people and puppets in the film. I know that this format can be used very effectively, but I thought this attempt missed the mark, as the presence of the real children and the lines they were given to say seemed to be almost an afterthought. I also found the short music video in the middle of the film to be equally annoying, as I thought it did nothing to add to the film and its message.

Otherwise, the video is humorous and appealing and can be used very constructively in helping children to understand that "Just say No" may very well be a life-saving statement and decision.
