This drama stars Yannick Bisson as Cory, a gifted young hockey player. Just out of high school, Cory is drafted to play hockey for the Oshawa Blades. It's a first step in his life-long dream of playing in the NHL. But like most eighteen-year-olds, he has some maturing to do before he can accomplish his ambitions. His gift is worth nothing if it is not used with care.

Cory is arrogant and self-centered and he's definitely not interested in being a team player. He has an affair with a beautiful hockey groupie, fights with his teammates, talks back to the coach. However, he learns from his experiences. The patience of the coach and of his back-home girlfriend is rewarded when he realizes that he must accept responsibilities if he is going to progress.

A recommended purchase for senior high school collections for both its entertainment and its discussion value. The sexuality is fairly explicit, but there is no actual nudity.
