WHAT DO YOU MEAN? SEX, AGGRESSION, FRIENDSHIP, FLIRTING, LOVE
Volume 22 Number 6
The title of this video summarizes the content aptly. A group of high school students from Queen Elizabeth High School, Halifax, talk about relationships between men and women. The general topics include reasons for joining a group, whether men and women communicate differently, and the meaning of "no." As members of the group include representation from a variety of backgrounds and perspectives, the discussion is open-ended and forthright and a good example of a group listening to individuals' opinions.
Some role plays and scenes, largely from the school setting, in black and white or colour, are interspersed among the close-ups of talking heads.
Overall, the issues in this video will promote discussion, either in terms of the topic itself or the opinions expressed, among high school students. This video would be a good starting point for stimulating discussion.
