Create your computer account at the U of M.  Computer accounts are issued through iridium, the U of M identity management system.

Before you begin:

• You need your student or employee number.
• Students must be registered in the current term for degree-credit courses.
• Employees must be processed through Human Resources.

Creating your computer accounts:

Visit  http://umanitoba.ca/iridium and click 'Create UMnetID'

Fill out your last name, student/staff number, and your date of birth.

Internet Explorer 9 users:
If you get a blank page: Click on the back button in your browser, then right-click on Create UMnetID and click Open Link in new Window


Follow through the next few steps, where you will need to:
  - Read and Accept the Usage Agreement.
  - Answer at least 3 security questions, in the event you need your password reset.
  - Set a password.

When finished, your computer accounts will be ready to use within the next 10 to 20 minutes.

NOTE: You may be entitled to additional accounts that are not automatically created.

Finally, be sure to:

• Not tell anyone your password.
• Take note of your email address (your UMnetID)@cc.umanitoba.ca.
  Please read your mail or forward it to an address you use.
• Understand the account usage rules.
