How to create your Computer Accounts and Claim your UMnetID
Computer accounts and your UMnetID are issued through iridium, the University of Manitoba's identity management system. To claim your accounts and UMnetID you will need to complete the below steps. 

NOTE: If you would like information on available systems and how to enable them visit MANAGE YOUR ACCOUNTS

Before you begin:

  • You need your student or employee number.
  • Students must be registered in the current term for degree-credit courses.
  • Employees must be processed through Human Resources.

CREATING YOUR COMPUTER ACCOUNTS:

Visit  http://umanitoba.ca/iridium and click 'Create UMnetID'



Fill out your last name, student/staff number, and your date of birth.

NOTE: Internet Explorer 9 users:If you get a blank page: Click on the back button in your browser, then right-click on Create UMnetID and click Open Link in new Window




Follow through the next few steps, where you will need to:

  1. Read and Accept the Usage Agreement.
  2. Answer at least 3 security questions, in the event you need your password reset.
  3. Set a password.
  4. When finished, your computer accounts will be ready to use within the next 10 to 20 minutes.
