The University of Manitoba has a wide-spread wireless network installation maintained by IST in most academic and on campus residential buildings including many public spaces. There are two U of M wireless networks available.

Networks:

• Secured wireless network (uofm-wpa) - PREFERRED
  This network is the preferred wireless network for members of the entire U of M community. See our instructions for connecting to the SECURE wireless network here.
• Temporary wireless access (uofm) – NOT RECOMMENDED
  The ‘uofm’ wireless network is an open, unencrypted access method intended for ‘guest access’, and is not recommended. Click for instructions on connecting to Temporary Wireless Access . Requires a UMNetID

• Eduroam - The University of Manitoba utilizes Eduroam (roaming wireless access service for educational institutions) which allows students, faculty and staff  who are visiting participating institutions to securely access internet using their home credentials.
