Collaboration and Visualization
Through WestGrid, the University of Manitoba has a facility for advanced collaboration and visualization which is available free of charge to researchers for research related activities. The main collaboration technologies are Access Grid and IOCOM which go beyond the capabilities of traditional videoconferencing. The facility is also equipped with a stereoscopic projector that can be used for scientific visualization.

The room is located in room E2-568 in the Engineering and Information Technology Complex.

Capabilities
- Three SXGA+ projectors yielding a total resolution of 4200x1050 pixels
- One SXGA+ stereoscopic projector (1400x1050 pixels)
- Three PTZ video cameras, one of which is capable of full HD (1080p)
- Echo cancellation with wireless microphones
- Visualization server with a stereo enabled Nvidia Quadro FX5800 graphics card
- IOCOM Collaboration server
- Cart with dual 1080p displays, 1080p PTZ camera, and HD H.323 codec (LifeSize Team 220)
- 6TB of network accessible storage for storing data sets and multimedia content
- Support Access Grid, IOCOM, and H.323 meetings (other technologies may be available upon request)
