Local campus calls

Telephone calls between the Fort Garry Campus (474, 480 & 272 exchange) and Bannatyne Campus (789, 975, 977, 480 & 272 exchange) can be completed by dialing the final four digits.
example: dial XXXX of the number 789-XXXX

All 474-2XXX and 474-5XXX series numbers are for internal use only and cannot be directly dialed by an external number.

Calls between Bannatyne Campus and the Health Sciences Centre (HSC) and vice-versa can be completed by dialing 59 and the final four digits of the telephone number.

Off campus calls

• Calls to phone numbers outside either campus require an outside line:  dial 4 + the complete number.
• Calls between Bannatyne campus and HSC and vice-versa:
  dial 59 + the final four digits of the telephone number

Operator Assistance

• University Operator:
  Fort Garry - dial 0 / Bannatyne - dial 8880
• Local directory assistance:
  dial 4 + 411

* A 95¢ charge is billed to the applicable department for local directory assistance.

Faxes

To send a fax off campus dial 4 then the complete external number. To send a fax on campus dial the last four digits if the fax number begins with one of the Fort Garry or Bannatyne exchanges.

Special events

Please notify the Operator (dial "0") of all major events taking place at the University to ensure that incoming calls are referred to the appropriate department.
