Aboriginal Focus Programs

The Aboriginal Focus Programs area of Extended Education was established to provide programs that respond to the post-secondary and professional development needs and concerns of Aboriginal people.

Aboriginal Focus Programs respect the history, cultures and development goals of the Aboriginal participants and communities they serve.

The programs are developed as cooperative or partnership initiatives that involve stakeholders, instructors and students in the planning process. This ensures the programs provide the highest quality of post-secondary and professional learning opportunities.

“The Aboriginal Community Wellness Diploma is an excellent program for someone who is working with the Aboriginal population. You not only learn about yourself but how you can apply what you learn in our Aboriginal communities.”
