Research

Research interests

Dr. Rodas-Gonzalez's research focuses on ante- and post-mortem factors of domesticated (beef, chicken and pork) and exotic species (water buffalo and bison) species to improve carcass and meat quality characteristics and value.

Current research projects

  • Improving feed efficiency and carcass quality by application of microbiome profiling, and computed tomography
  • Multispectral technology for rapid non-invasive prediction of live carcass traits in growing-finishing pigs
