ACCESS

The direct use of equipment within the FABLab is limited to those individuals who have undergone a period of training for the equipment which they wish to use. Some equipment within the LAB requires a technician to operate it, though files can be setup by individual students given adequate knowledge of file preparation. Below is a list of the equipment which individuals are able to be trained on and those which must be operated by a technician.

Technician

• Beam Large Laser cutter 4’x4’ (150Watts)
• AXYZ CNC ROUTER 5’x8’ (Router & Tangent Knife

Trained Students

• Universal Small Laser cutters 32”x18”(60Watts)

Training

There are bi-weekly evening training sessions available for those individuals that wish to operate specific equipment on their own time, during Lab Hours. Please check the on-line schedule for the next available training session. There are also many on-line links to software tutorials which may help individuals navigate and resolve digital modelling trouble they encounter when drawing in 2D or 3D space.
