Admission Requirements

If you want to advance within your profession, make a career change or are interested in a professional or personal challenge, the Bachelor of Arts Integrated Studies (BAIS) may be for you.
You’ll need to be prepared to juggle academic study, work and home but you’ll be rewarded with the excitement of new learning, intellectual growth and new dimensions in your work and personal life.

To apply to the Bachelor of Arts Integrated Studies, you must have completed one of the following:

  • University of Manitoba Certificate in Human Resource Management (HRM)
  • University of Manitoba Certificate in Adult and Continuing Education (CACE)
  • University of Manitoba Certificate in Financial and Management Accounting (FMA)
  • Canadian Institute of Management Certificate Program in Management and Administration (C.I.M.) from any accredited post-secondary institution
  • University of Manitoba diploma program
  • Diploma Program completed at another accredited post-secondary institution
  • Successful completion of a minimum of 24 credit hours of university level course work at the University of Manitoba or elsewhere

If you are unable to meet the admission requirements, you may request special consideration from the BAIS Admissions Committee.
A minimum grade of C+ or 2.50 is required on certificate and diploma programs.
The ten-year rule is waived on any courses used as the basis of admission. Courses used towards admission will also be considered for transfer credit.
Where university courses are used as the basis of admission, a minimum of 24 credit hours of university courses must be completed with a minimum cumulative Grade Point Average (GPA) of 2.0. If you have a GPA less than 2.00, you may be considered for admission on the recommendation of the Dean.
Normally, three years full-time work experience is required (i.e., 30 hours per week), preferably with the same employer.
If you hold a first degree in the Faculty of Arts, you cannot apply for the BAIS Program.
