The Dean’s Office in the Faculty of is staffed by Academic Advisors and Advising Assistants to answer questions you may have about our programs. Our office is located on the 3rd Floor, Fletcher Argue Building. Office hours are 8:30am and 4:30pm.

You have been admitted.... What Next?

Once you have been admitted to the university, here’s what you need to do:

May 2013
o    Faculty of Arts Admissions Package arrives in the mail
o    Review the Faculty of Arts New Student Guide available on the Faculty of Arts Website
o    Review the Start Book
 
June 2013
o    Attend Head Start 2013 (Saturday, June 8)
o    If course planning help is required, plan to attend the Faculty of Arts Help Session and/or University 1 First Year Centre Timetabling and Planning Session
o    Review the University of Manitoba’s Online Registration Tutorials

July 2013
o    Determine your initial registration time on Aurora Student (July 8)
o    Register for courses online through Aurora Student as early as possible to ensure your chances of your first choice of courses and schedule.  Initial registration for first year students is July 15 to July 19.
o    Book a Summer Campus Tour (every Friday in July and August)- Student Life Office

 August 2013
o    Buy your textbooks
o    Get your U of M Student Card (Registrar’s Office)
o    Create your Computer Account and Claim your UMnetID (Information Services and Technology). Effective September 2013, all official U of M electronic correspondence will be through U of M email accounts.
o    Orientation information arrives

September 2013
o    Attend Orientation (September 3 and 4)
o    Pay your tuition fees (due before the start of classes)
o    First day of classes (September 5)
o    Get a locker from the Arts Student Body Council
